I am a great fan of Einaudi's piano pieces and play many of them on the piano, but I also play the trumpet.

While searching the Einaudi website, I found a small description of a trumpet piece called "Selim", written in 1997

At once I wanted to play it and looked all over to find the music, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

The closest I got was a link to the Ricordi website telling me about the piece and the registration code etc., but it doesn't seem to be sold anywhere, and I couldn't find any recordings either.

Please may you tell me somewhere where I could listen to the piece, or even better show me where I could buy the music to it!
Feel free to post any information concerning "Selim"

Hello and welcome to the forum! Are you saying that you already tried to write an email to Ricordi?
Bye

There's a LOT of stuff that was written before Ludovico got great commercial success that very few - if any - of us here have heard, so you can join the ranks of the eternally curious :) Hopefully, one day, it'll all be released.

In the mean time, if you're interested in hearing some of his older work, the Apple Tree is a wonderful piece for chamber ensemble, Al Margin d'Aria (sp?) is one of his earlier orchestral works - quite serial sounding - and Time Out is a whacky 80's nightmare :D Of all of these I only personally recommend The Apple Tree, but the others are still interesting to hear his musical roots.

In Italy I can't be sure - I think he was well known amongst the musical intelligensia and high culture long before he released Le Onde in '96, but it was this - his first solo piano album - which really propelled him into fame in the UK, around '97. And in the past three years since Divenire he has been performing more outside of Europe - India, Japan and - currently - the USA, so I'd guess you could say it's only this past year that he's become an international celebrity.
